Description
The Manual Handling course is two and a half hours in duration.
The course covers theory and practical: Legislation, anatomy of the back, injury prevention and good manual handling techniques.
The focus is on applying the 8 principles of lifting to practical scenarios.
All four lifts and the push/pull technique are covered on the day:
- Floor to table height
- Lift to height
- Team Lift
- Use of a mechanical aid
- Push / Pull technique
Each learner completes all of the lifts.
We show you how the techniques can be applied in real life scenarios.
We can tailor the lifts to your workplace and specific tasks.
The learner comes away with an appreciation for their back, and the knowledge to prevent injury to themselves.
Trainer is a FETAC accredited Manual Handling Instructor as per HSA requirements.
